GENERAL MANAGER’S REPORT

 

By the time you receive this newsletter, we will have interviewed 24 kids to fill 9 positions.  Steven & Jessica are returning managers, and Ashton Carpenter & Caroline Smith will fill-in as needed.

 

We have already sold 16 Temporary Memberships!  Membership cards for all new Temp members & those who have purchased stock will be available at the pool opening night or your first visit to the Club.  Stock certificates will also be at the pool if you’ve not yet rcv’d yours.  New temps families include:  Craig & Jenn Brunner, Rosalie Zeller, Stephen & Ginger Marquitz, Robert & Lia Ingle, Fran & Tony Miller, Dave & Heather Merz, Doug & Michelle Moore, Leah & Mark Sendelbach, Virna & Chris Altick, Deanna & Alan Winn, John & Jeni Opantrny, Mike & Susan Updike, Beth & Kevin Remhof, Bill & Tanya Sabo, and Dan & Carissa Krane.

SWIMMING & DIVING LESSONS

 

Swimming and diving lessons are offered as part of your membership.  We offer three two-week sessions held Tuesdays through Fridays from 10:45 - 11:15 or 11:15 - 11:45.

 

Class descriptions & required abilities of your child are available at the front desk.

 

SESSION SCHEDULE

 

June 17th – June 27th

Sign-ups: Saturday, June 28th at 12:00

June 30th – July 11th (no lessons July 4th)

Sign-ups: Saturday, June 14th at 12:00

July 15th – July 25th

Sign-ups Saturday, July 12th at 12:00

 

SELLING YOUR MEMBERSHIP

 

Members wishing to sell their stock certificate should e-mail markwhisman@sbcglobal.net or mail a letter to PO Box 292233, 45429, notifying the Club of your intent to sell your membership.  Until the date of the sale, members are responsible for all pool dues.  Failure to pay dues decreases your stock value by the amount of the unpaid dues on June 1st. 

 

Temporary members must purchase their stock directly from the Club.

 

BABYSITTER CARDS

 

The Board recognizes the fact that many parents work during the day and leave their children in the care of a babysitter.  There is a special babysitter’s pass available to those families in need of one.  The card must stay in possession of the member, and the sitter is allowed pool privileges only during those times that he/she is responsible and caring for the member’s children.  There is a cost of $25.00 for this pass.  Please contact a manager to make arrangements.

 

PARTY RULES & SCHEDULING

 

Members may schedule functions as follows:

 

1.      Parties must be scheduled with the Club Mgr. at least 48 hours in advance of the party.

2.      No more than two parties may be scheduled during the same time period and only one party 

may be scheduled on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday between 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm.

3.      No parties may be scheduled on Memorial Day, July 4th or Labor Day weekends.

4.      Parties may not exceed 20 people, including  adults/parents providing supervision of

      children's parties.

5.      Grills and tables are available on a first come, first serve basis, and parties are limited to 3 tables.

6.      Members are responsible for cleaning and returning Club property (grills, tables, utensils, etc.) used during the party.

All Club Rules and Regulations apply to parties, including:

1.   Children must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult unless they are 9 or older and have passed the swimming proficiency test.

2.      Members may bring up to 10 guests during the summer.  Non-member guests must pay

      the standard guest fee.

 

Use of the baby pool shall be limited to children 4 years of age and under, parent’s help to enforce this rule is needed, especially during rest periods!  Inform the on-duty manager if assistance is needed.  No metal or rigid plastic toys shall be permitted in the baby pool.  Supervision of children is the responsibility of the accompanying adult member.

 

WATERPROOF SWIMMING DIAPERS MANDATORY IN BOTH SWIMMING POOLS!  Waterproof swimming diapers are sold in the office, please save us the cost of draining the baby pool and refilling it when contaminated.

Reminder: Swim suits will ONLY be available for purchase on Wednesday, May 21 and Thursday, May 22 from 6:00-7:30 pm at the pool. We will also have silicone caps for sale. Suits will NOT be available on opening night. After May 22, suits can be purchased from

The Finals. The suit has not changed from 2007.

 

Swim/Dive Team Registration will take place on May 21 & 22 and Opening Night.

Swim fee and Dive fee are each $40 per swimmer or diver, $80 family cap.

 

Please bring your calendars and plan to sign up to volunteer to help with the meets.

Each family is expected to work at least two meets. If you are interested in becoming

a Stroke & Turn Official, please contact Jenn Fullenkamp. 

 

Parent information packets will be available at registration and must be returned by June 5. Emergency medical forms must be returned before your child's first practice.

 

The 2008 Meet Schedule is posted on the website. Our first meet is Thursday, June 12

at Crestwood in Kettering.

 

Beginning May 27 (6:00-7:00 pm) we will have swimmer evaluations to determine practice times and stroke proficiency. This is not required for all swimmers. New swimmers are encouraged to attend.

Tuesday, May 27: 11&older

Wednesday, May 28: 9-10

Thursday, May 29: 7-8

Friday, May 30: 6&under

 

Evening Practices: June 2-5 from 6:00-7:00 pm

10& under: Monday & Wednesday

11& older: Tuesday & Thursday

We will plan to have time trials; parents are asked to stay and help time.

 

Practices begin Monday, June 9. Due to the size of the team, the 11-12 age group will

be divided between sessions A and B.

Tentative Practices Times:

Session A: 8:10-9:15 am (7-8, 9-10, 11-12)

Session B: 9:10-10:15 am (11-12, 13&up)

6&unders will be divided by ability

SPONSORSHIP NEEDED!!

 

 

OCSC is seeking members and businesses to sponsor the swim and dive teams in 2008.  Information will be available to members on opening night detailing how you or your business can sponsor one of our teams this year.  There will be two levels of membership: Gold and Silver.  Gold sponsorship will include your name or company name on swim team shirts, or towels, recognition at all swim team events, and signage on the OCSC website and at the pool. 

 

The sponsorships will be assisting with the overall cost of participation in the 2008 events and to also provide special recognition to individual pool members.  Your help will be greatly appreciated.  Our goal is $2,500.00.

OAK CREEK BOARD

 

The 2008 Oak Creek Board has been set for the new year.  This year will be the pool’s 40th year of operation.  We are all very excited with the onset of summer and the opportunity to enjoy special times with friends and family at OCSC.  This year we will be organizing special events to celebrate and commemorate the special mile stone that OCSC has reached.

 

Your 2008 Oak Creek Board membership will include:

MEMEBERSHIP DUES

 

Dues for the 2008 season are $315.65 (295 dues plus 20.65 sales tax) and must be post marked no later than May 1, 2008.  Dues post marked after May 1st are $335.65 ($20.00 late fee), checks not including the late fee will be returned. 

 

Temporary membership dues are $337.05 (315 dues plus 22.05 sales tax).  Temporary members from 2007 must purchase a full membership (when offered) to be members in 2008.
